The only wooden yacht in Southeast Asia to meet US Coast Guard and ABYC classes, she is the latest to join Pelorus’ fleet of pioneering expedition yachts and is available for charter in Indonesia, from the Komodo National Park to West Papua.

Custom-made to cruise the 18,000 islands of the Indonesian Archipelago, SEQUOIA sleeps up to 6 guests across 3 chalet-inspired cabins, including the private ‘Sky Suite’ on the upper deck, which connects to a library and sky deck. Combining timeless craftsmanship with the latest marine technology, SEQUOIA’S low-consumption engine, generators and sanitation systems ensure a minimal carbon footprint, alongside no single-use plastics, and palm oil-free bath products. In addition, her lightweight materials ensure that she runs silently while under sail, and a draft of eight feet means that she can reach intimate coves and beaches that other, larger, vessels cannot.

Styled with light organic fabrics and typical Indonesian polished hardwoods, SEQUOIA offers several spacious covered and open deck areas where guests can enjoy the views, including the impressive 646-square-foot ‘Sky Deck’, which provides a 270-degree view of pristine oceans and islands, perfect for outdoor dining, cinema nights, or lounging on cushioned Clamshell beds. On the Main Deck, ‘The Great Room’ offers a 366-square-foot, semi-open space, enclosed if desired by 20 handcrafted teak-louvered doors, perfect for dive briefings or intimate meals. The Tender Bar serves freshly brewed coffee, cocktails, and fine drinks at any time – including a curated selection of premium prestige wines, a rarity in the region.

Aboard SEQUOIA, every charter is hyper-personalised. Guests might begin the day with yoga or beauty treatments al fresco, join a guided hike or birdwatching excursion, or spend the afternoon swimming alongside “mermaids” in a playful, expert-led freediving session, or enjoying all that the PADI-certified dive center has to offer. Water-based days are complemented by luxury beach set-ups on secluded shores, for shaded lounging and dining in total privacy.

Cultural immersion is woven into the experience: charter guests can learn traditional Indonesian tapestry techniques such as ikat weaving from local artisans, join cooking classes using freshly caught seafood and local spices, or simply soak in the warm hospitality of SEQUOIA’s all-Indonesian crew comprising an expert cruise director and twelve team members with exceptional local knowledge. Each guest also receives a bespoke batik bath robe, sewn onboard by the yacht’s artisan tailor as a unique keepsake.

Operating year-round within the 9 million acres of Indonesia’s 21 designated Marine Parks and UNESCO World Heritage Sites, SEQUOIA’s itineraries follow the seasons. From April to October, she sails the Sea of Flores, including Komodo (home to over 6,000 wild Komodo Dragons), Sumba, Alor, and the Spice Islands, before transitioning into the Banda Sea. From November to March, she explores West Papua, Maluku, Misool, the Dampier Straits, and Raja Ampat – the heart of the Coral Triangle, where biodiversity peaks.
