Hōkūleʻa Returns to Ko Olina as Part of its Pae ʻĀina Statewide Sail

WHAT: Ko Olina Resort is honored to welcome the legendary Hōkūleʻa to its shores as part of the vessel’s Pae ʻĀina statewide sail, celebrating five decades of voyaging and environmental advocacy. This special visit comes just months before Hōkūleʻa’s 50th Anniversary in March 2025, which marks its incredible journey in inspiring people worldwide to reconnect with nature and take action to protect our planet.

WHERE: Ko Olina Boat Ramp, 92-105 Kekai Place

WHY: This event provides a unique opportunity for the community to engage with the Hōkūleʻa crew and celebrate the ongoing efforts of mālama ʻāina through educational activities, storytelling, and cultural exchange. The educational engagements, presented by the Polynesian Voyaging Society (PVS) in collaboration with several local organizations such as Kuleana Coral Restoration, DLNR/Department of Aquatic Resources, UH West Oʻahu, Aulaniʻs Animal Programs team, and Peace Corps, will allow keiki to learn about traditional voyaging, environmental conservation, and the importance of protecting the earth.
